Types of Autoclaves a Laboratory may need
Horizontal Autoclave
Autoclaved sterilization involves the destruction of all forms of harmful microorganisms, including spores. The device that has undergone the sterilization process is free of more than 99% of the pathogens. Disinfection is a process that destroys only vegetative forms of microorganisms.
A tool or material that is sterile, that is, that has undergone a sterilization process, is completely safe for the human body. For sterilization to be effective, the material must be prepared properly, the process itself must be done properly and the tools after sterilization must be stored properly.
Vertical autoclave
Are specially designed for liquid and food sterilization in laboratories, pharmaceutical and food factories. These autoclaves make the process easier, safer, accurate, reproducible, and easier to validate. The compact, space-saving design makes them ideal for laboratories with small footprints, where space is very small and the increased height of the camera (up to 50% more capacity) means they can handle most standard media bottles.
Sterilization is defined as the process of destroying all forms of microorganisms, including spores. The autoclave, thanks to its design, allows the sterilization process with high pressure and steam, killing any microorganism, including viruses, dangerous bacteria, as well as all forms of spores. The use of a pressure steam autoclave is one of the best known and effective sterilization methods.
