What Precautions Should Be Taken When Using pH Meters in the Laboratory?
pH meters are essential devices in the laboratory; they allow scientists to measure the degree of acidity and alkalinity of a sample. Because of this...
Portable pH meter is a type of pH meter consisting of an electronic amplifier and a pair of electrodes, or also a combination electrode, and some type of screen calibrated in pH units. It usually has a glass electrode and a reference electrode, or a combination electrode.
The advantage of this device is that it allows us to mobilize and thus measure different types of substances in the field (field measurements). The electrodes used in this equipment are rod structures, usually made of glass, with a light bulb containing the sensor at the bottom. The glass electrode used to measure the pH has a glass bulb specifically designed to be selective to the concentration of hydrogen ions.

In this section you can find, our pH meters in operation, packaged, receiving service, etc.
A pH meter consists of three essential parts: a pH measuring electrode, a reference electrode and a high input impedance meter. The reference electrode has a known, constant and stable potential. The pH electrode can be considered as if it were a battery, with a voltage that varies according to the pH of the measured solution. The pH-determining electrode is a hydrogen-ion sensitive glass bulb, with a millivolt output that varies as the relative concentration of hydrogen ions within and outside the bulb changes.
The reference electrode output does not change with the activity of the hydrogen ions. The pH electrode has a very high internal resistance, which makes it difficult to measure the voltage variation with the pH. Therefore, the input impedance of the pH meter and the dispersion resistances are important factors.
