pH meters and multiparameters / turbidimeters

A pH meter is a scientific instrument that measures the activity of ionic hydrogen in aqueous solutions, indicating its degree of acidity or alkalinity expressed in the form of pH. The PH meter measures the difference in electrical potential between a pH electrode and a reference electrode. This difference in electrical potential is linked to the acidity or pH of the solution. The PHMETE is used in many applications ranging from laboratory experimentation to quality control.

There are general meter maintenance gauges, but many times each make and model has its own attention.

If, in addition to the corresponding calibrations, we carry out proper maintenance of the counter, we will ensure a longer life and more accurate results in each measurement. Many meters incorporate glass sensors and reference tubes that must be stored in specially formulated solutions. If a pressure gauge is used, the storage solution is usually on the counter top. Please don't spill the solution the sensor is in because we need it. For most pH sensors, it is essential that the sensor is stored wet in the proper solution.

Calibration is performed with at least two standard buffer solutions that cover the range of pH values ​​to be measured. For general purposes, buffers are suitable for pH 4.00 and PH 10.00. The PHMETE has a calibration control to set the counter playback equal to the value of the first standard pad and a second command that is used to set the counter playback to the value of the second buffer. A third control allows you to adjust the temperature. The most accurate measurements sometimes require a calibration with three different pH values.
